“Enhancing Youth Competitiveness” – was this year’s theme for the very first ever “RAISON D’ETRE” language based program held at Christ the King College, Gingoog City,Mother Ignacia Gymnasium last October 7,2015 attended by both TEP and BSBA students.
The program showcased the language skills of the CKCians in speaking and writing, the program started with the invocation led by chosen TEP students followed by the singing of the National Anthem and representation of the Masters of the Ceremony and Broadcasters.
The Introductions were given by Ms. Cecille Gamayon, a TEP student whom introduce the panel of judges and the criteria of the competition. The judges were, Mr. John Paul Palad, head of the Center for Quality Assurance and Research, Dr. Grace C. Lapinig, Dean of College, and Mrs. Arlene Alvarez, Basic Education Faculty member. Afterwards, the Broadcasters presented news updates both in Local and International news.
The program proceeded to the competitions for both English and Filipino Category, first was the Oratorical Speech contest which was a battle of Mastery of a given manuscript, each of the contestants was given a written piece a head of time for them to master. After the oratorical contest, a song rendention was given by selected students from different departments followed by the representation of the next broadcasters.
The competition continued to the Extemporaneous speech contest which was a fight between wits and vocabulary in both Filipino and English Category . The Competitors were to give an ‘on-the-spot’ speech about Technology and it’s advantages and disadvantages. Afterwards, a role play was presented by the chosen students from TEP and Sabayang Pagbigkas perfoemed by the BSA students.
The program continued with the proclamation and awarding of winners, here are the following list of the winners:
