Senior Highschool Program

At the end of Senior High School, CKCians are expected to:

1. Be exposed to an array of communication situations where speaking, listening, and corresponding skills that may create a persuasive, credible, and effective communication can be honed to appreciate and exhibit viability to work in a variety of careers and develop strong self-presentation skills utilizing both the verbal and non-verbal factors to enhance their life of faith to the Almighty, excellence in whatever endeavor and service to others and God (Oral Communication Context);

2. Access the plethora of knowledge through critical reading of literary and informative texts to enhance thinking skills, acquire and expand vocabulary, and develop an in-depth love for reading, possess discriminatory competence in selecting worthwhile materials which may develop values for love of country, appreciation of one’s culture diversity wherein multicultural competence may be achieved, thus making oneself become an instrument in manifesting the values of an Ignacian Marian demonstrating faith, excellence, and services as he/she engages in a communicative situation where the strong foundation of wisdom and philosophy of life is needed to become productive and efficient members of the society, a citizen of the country and as a citizen in the world ( Reading and Writing);

Napapalawak ang kaalaman at kasanayang pag-aaral tungo sa kakakayahang pananaliksik ukol sa kalikasan, katangian, pag-unlad at paggamit ng wikang Filipino sa pakikipagtalastasan pasalita at pagsulat sa sitwasyong komunikatibo, panlipunan at kulturang Pilipino (Komunikasyon at Pananaliksik sa Wika at Kulturang Pilipino);

4. Napag-aralan ang proseso ng pagbasa at pagsusuri ng iba’t-ibang anyo at uri ng tekstong nakakatulong sa pagbuo at pagsulat ng sistematikong pananaliksik ayon sa kaugnayan nito sa sarili, pamilya, komunidad, bansa at daigdig (Pagbasa at Pagsusuri ng Iba’t-Ibang Teksto Tungo sa Pananaliksik);

5. Access varied literacy genres from the 21st-century literature from the Philippines and the world for appreciation and critical study, thus, leading the students to be informed and critical individuals that have 1) the ideals of the Filipino thru the years enabling them to live a life of excellence, faith, and service; 2) refined mind and sharpened sense of life as  reflective by better understanding and judgment; 3) appreciative attitude towards the multicultural practices and traditions of the Filipinos and that of other people in the world, and 4) gained a better insight into the depth and breadth of the 21st-century literature from the Philippines and the World (21st Century Literature from the Philippines and the World);

6. Appreciate a broad range of styles in the various disciplines with consideration of their elements and principles, and be engaged in an integrative approach in studying arts ( Contemporary Philippine Arts from the Regions);

7. Acquire a sound understanding of (1) the different types of media to communicate a message, (2) the ways of properly handling information, and (3) the use of technology to enhance the way we send and receive information  ( Media and Information Literacy);

8. Exhibit competence and appreciation of the fundamentals of mathematics and judicious application of skills and processes towards the formation of critical thinking and sound judgment in solving mathematical problems and as applied in a real-life context (General Mathematics);

9. Exhibit competence and appreciation of the fundamentals of Statistics and Probability and judicious application of skills and processes towards the formation of critical thinking and sound judgment in solving mathematical problems on mean and variance of a random variable, to apply sampling techniques and distribution, to perform hypothesis testing on the population mean and proportion, and to perform correlation in real-life contexts  (Statistics and Probability);

10. Uncover the complexities of human existence and dig down into the most fundamental questions that confronted the human person as he/ she  journeys through life and understand humans existence thereby being able to, not only got through it but live life at its best ( Introduction to the Philosophy of Human Person);

11. Provide a general background for the understanding of the Earth on a planetary scale, the origin, and history of the earth through geologic time scale, understand the relationship of these essential concepts to various phenomena and gain awareness on the importance of conserving and preserving natural resources to display accountability as a steward of God’s creation (Earth Science – STEM)

12. Acquire general background for the understanding of Earth’s structure, composition and processes, life interaction at the cellular, organism, population, and ecosystem levels; understand the interrelationship of living things to the environment making one appreciate the value of life and preserve nature’s beauty as a way of achieving one’s responsibility  as a steward of God’s creation (Earth Science – ABM & HUMSS);

13. Demonstrate and understand the basic disaster risk concepts, exposure, and vulnerability to hazards, apply appropriate measures and interventions before, during, and after exposure to hazards, exhibit scientific attitudes and values to solve problems critically, protect the environment and conserve resources, protect life and enhance its integrity and promote wellness of people. Make informed and unbiased decisions about social issues that involve each of the diverse aspects of science and technology, pollution and recycling, appreciate and preserve the beauty of the natural environment by fulfilling one’s responsibility as a steward of God’s creation (Disaster Readiness and Risk Reduction-STEM );

14. Demonstrate understanding of basic science concepts, apply science process skills, exhibit scientific attitudes and values to solve problems critically, innovate beneficial products, protect the environment and conserve resources, protect life and enhance its integrity and promote wellness of people, make informed and unbiased decisions about social issues that involve each of the diverse aspects of science, appreciate and preserve the beauty of natural environment by fulfilling one’s responsibility as a steward of God’s creation (Physical Science – ABM & HUMSS);

15. Know and accept the total selves, identify their most immediate and long-term goals in school as they recognize their vision in life, analyze their study habits, attitude, and skills, and assess how they manage their gift of time (Personal Development );

16. Develop awareness of cultural, social, and political dynamics, and sensitivity to cultural diversity; understand how culture, human agency, society, and politics work, and engage themselves in the examination of the country’s current human development goals ( Understanding Culture, Society, and Politics);

17. Acquire an active life for fitness and lifelong health for themselves as well as for  others; understand physical and health literacy competencies; engage themselves in individual, dual, and team sports  in a competitive and recreational setting; promote ad appreciate Philippine folk dance, indigenous and traditional  dances as well as other dance forms; move safely and competently in these settings while making a positive relationship with natural environments and promoting their sustainable use (HOPE); and

18. Deepen understanding of Christian faith and life, and broaden perspective in living one’s faith as a disciple of Jesus Christ in the context of contemporary realities of Church and society (Christian Formation).
