For 77 years, Christ the King College (CKC) has stood as a beacon of education and community service in the Easter Misamis Oriental. As the institution celebrates its 77th founding anniversary, along with The Higher Education Department Day, it’s doing so with a spirit of compassion and inclusivity, launching the “YAKAP” (Yes to Apostolate-Driven Kinship for Authentic and Passionate Health Care) Medical Mission. This three-day event, held on the CKC campus from November 19-21, 2024, extends a warm invitation to all members of the community, regardless of their background or connection to the institution, to participate in this transformative initiative.
The YAKAP Medical Mission is a testament to CKC’s unwavering commitment to community engagement and holistic well-being. It’s a collaborative effort between the Higher Education Department and the academic community, bringing together students, faculty, staff, and local healthcare professionals to provide compassionate and accessible healthcare services to those in need. The mission embodies the spirit of “YAKAP,” a Filipino word that signifies a warm embrace, symbolizing the School’s desire to reach out and care for its community.
The mission offers a wide range of services designed to address the diverse health needs of the community. These include various services of dental care, blood typing, baptism, reflexology, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The mission’s success is largely due to the generous support of its sponsors, who share CKC’s commitment to community service. Their contributions reflect their deep commitment to the mission’s goals.
CKC expresses its heartfelt gratitude to all sponsors for their invaluable contributions. The YAKAP Medical Mission is a testament to the power of collaboration and community spirit. It’s a shining example of how education and healthcare can come together to create a brighter future for all.
