January 8, 2025 – Christ the King College: In anticipation of the May 12, 2025, National and Local Elections, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) conducted an Automated Counting Machine (ACM) Roadshow at the CKC Gymnasium on Wednesday morning.
The event, organized in collaboration with the City Election Office, was led by City Election Officer Atty. Margie Lustre Luma-ad. Attendees included senior high school students, college students, and school personnel, who eagerly participated in the informative and interactive session.
The roadshow began with a comprehensive discussion outlining the advantages and disadvantages of the new voting machine. Topics such as the machine’s efficiency, reliability, and potential challenges were addressed. Participants were also briefed on the dos and don’ts of voting, ensuring they were well-informed and prepared to exercise their rights responsibly.
A key highlight of the event was the hands-on demonstration of the ACM, where selected students and staff tested the machine under the guidance of COMELEC officers. This practical activity allowed attendees to familiarize themselves with the voting process, fostering confidence and transparency ahead of the elections.
The ACM Roadshow was well-received by participants, many of whom expressed appreciation for the initiative’s emphasis on voter education and preparedness.
COMELEC reiterated its commitment to ensuring a smooth, fair, and informed election process, encouraging the public to remain engaged and vigilant as the May elections draw near.
