Christ the King College of Gingoog City marked a milestone for its Hospitality Management Program as it held its 1st Pinning Ceremony on October 28, 2026, at the CKC MIDES Gymnasium.

With the theme, “A Pin of Hope, A Path of Service: Forming Ignacian Marian Hospitality Professionals in Faith & Service,” the ceremony highlighted an important step in the students’ journey toward becoming future professionals in the hospitality industry.

The program began with the arrival and registration of guests, followed by the processional of faculty members, guests, and pinning candidates. A celebration of the Holy Mass was also held, placing faith at the center of the occasion.

Following the Mass, the ceremony continued with the opening program and introduction of guests. S. Ma. Anecita C. Navaja, RVM, delivered the welcome remarks, followed by an inspirational message and keynote address.

One of the highlights of the afternoon was the presentation of the pinning candidates and the statement on the purpose and significance of the pin delivered by Ms. Kaila Marie Angelica Amper. The much-awaited pinning ceremony then followed, marking the candidates’ commitment to the values and responsibilities expected of future hospitality professionals.

More than a symbol worn on their uniforms, the pin represented the students’ growth, dedication, and readiness to carry the values of faith and service beyond the classroom.

After receiving their pins, the students took part in the Internship Pledge, signifying their commitment as they prepared to apply their knowledge and skills in actual hospitality settings.

Dr. Carmelita C. Labadan, VPAA, delivered the closing remarks before the ceremony concluded with a photo opportunity among the pinning candidates, administrators, faculty members, and guests.

As the Hospitality Management Program celebrated its first-ever pinning ceremony, the occasion became more than simply a school tradition. For the students, it marked both an achievement and a beginning—a reminder that the pin they now carry also represents the responsibility to serve with competence, humility, faith, and compassion. The ceremony reflected Christ the King College’s continuing mission of forming professionals who are not only prepared for their chosen careers but are also guided by Ignacian Marian values in serving others.
