The BSEd 3 English students took the spotlight as they showcased their creativity, teamwork, passion and dedication through a successful one-act play presentation titled โ€œSaranggolaโ€ as part of their final output for the ENGLISH 110: Speech and Theater Arts course. The performance highlighted not only their acting skills but also their impressive communication and how they portray their true-to-life experiences, struggles, and perseverance as an English major and education student.
The โ€œSaranggolaโ€ one-act play was written by Chrys Nicole Peros, directed by Kristine Paluga, with the advisory of Mr. Ricky French Poncardas who poured their creativity and support into it, which contributed to the success of this meaningful presentation. Their collective efforts served as an inspiration not only to the performers but also to everyone who witnessed the play.
Weeks of preparation and practice led to an impressive and emotionally charged performance that resonated deeply with the audience. โ€œSaranggolaโ€ explored real-life experiences, struggles, and perseverance โ€” themes that mirrored the studentsโ€™ own journey as English majors. Each scene was delivered with sincerity and emotion, earning applause and admiration from the crowd.
More than just a graded requirement, the one-act play became a moment of pride and fulfillment for these future educators, proof that they are not just for teaching or for the classroom. They believe that learning can go beyond books and pencils; with passion and dedication, stage play and acting can touch the studentโ€™s heart and understanding.
Like the โ€œSaranggolaโ€ rising against the wind, the BSEd 3 English students showed that even amid struggles, one can soar with grace, purpose, and a lifetime commitment to their choices and passion.
