The new week began with the most anticipated battle of skill, energy, and sportsmanshipโ€”the CKC Intramurals 2025. On September 15, Christ the King College formally opened this yearโ€™s celebration, โ€œIntramurals Flex Fest 2025.โ€
The festivities started with a morning parade, where teams displayed vibrant colors and unity as they marched through Guanzon and Jadol before returning to CKC via the National Highway. Banners waved high with enthusiasm, painting the streets in a kaleidoscope of hues as studentsโ€™ synergy radiated across the city. The parade featured Grade School students with their Drum and Lyre Corps, the Junior and Senior High Departments, and the College Department with their teams. Adding rhythm and flair to the procession, the SMAโ€“Lunao Band filled the streets with music, energizing both participants and spectators. Faculty members also joined, underscoring the spirit of togetherness and inclusivity.
Back on campus, the opening program commenced with a prayer led by the Grade School Performing Arts Club, followed by the National Anthem and School Hymn. Ceremonial highlights included the raising of banners, the lighting of the urn by regional players, and the oaths led by Mr. Pericles G. Aninion, MPM, and Hans Joseph Rana. School President Sister Anecita C. Navaja, RVM, then delivered an inspiring message, officially declaring Intramurals Week open.
The programโ€™s highlight was the Cheerdance Competition, where teams electrified the crowd with creativity, precision, and artistry. The Grade 7 Tenacious Gladiators impressed with synchronized, high-energy moves that reflected unity. The Grade 8 Fearless Cavaliers displayed grace and finesse in a polished routine. The Grade 9 Heroic Spartans entertained with dynamic choreography and lively stunts, spreading infectious energy. Finally, the Grade 10 Glorious Titans stunned the audience with intricate stunts and flawless synchronization, earning them the championship crown. They were followed by the Spartans in second place, the Gladiators in third, and the Cavaliers in fourth.
Yet, the excitement of Day 1 was just the beginning. More games and competitions lie ahead, offering opportunities for CKCians to showcase athletic prowess and determination. As the week unfolds, one question remains: which team will rise to claim the overall championship?
Beyond rivalry and competition, however, the Intramurals emphasize unity and community spirit. True glory lies not in medals and trophies, but in the friendships built, values strengthened, and passion shared. This yearโ€™s celebration once again proves that CKCians shine not merely for their victories, but for their fiery passion, unwavering teamwork, and unwavering sportsmanship.
