On November 29, 2025, Christ the King College conducted an HIV Awareness Symposium at the Mother Ignacia Gymnasium. The event was attended by students from the Higher Education Department and hosted by Gabriel Angelo Park. Adding to the significance of the occasion, Dr. Neal C. Rana, DPSP, DPCOM, served as the guest speaker.
During the symposium, Dr. Rana delivered a comprehensive discussion on HIV, its modes of transmission, and the misconceptions that continue to place individuals at risk. He underscored the importance of accurate information and early testing as essential steps in safeguarding oneβs health. He also highlighted recent advancements in treatment, explaining that individuals living with HIV can now lead healthy and productive lives with proper care.
The symposium further presented key prevention measures, including practicing safe behaviors, recognizing potential risks, and seeking assistance without fear or stigma. The session encouraged students to remain informed, compassionate, and responsible, fostering a campus environment where knowledge promotes safety, understanding, and support for all.
