On August 22, 2024, Christ the King College Criminal Justice Program hosted a profound and inspiring Reception Rites & Oath-Taking Ceremony for the new Criminology Cadets, themed “Embracing the Journey into the Heart of Becoming a Criminology Cadet, by Navigating Obstacles through Resilience and Faith.”
Held at the Quadrangle from 9:00 AM to 12:00 NN, the event was a testament to the dedication and spirit of our future criminologists. The ceremony began with the dignified Entrance of New and Senior Cadets, followed by a heartfelt Invocation by Ms. Jan Blessie Abian, RCrim. The national pride was evident as the National Anthem and School Hymn were sang that sets a solemn tone for the occasion.
The ceremony continued with Welcome Remarks from Mr. Ram Christian C. Dalit, RCrim, our esteemed Criminal Justice Program Coordinator. The Presentation of Incoming Cadets by Ms. Rona Ann C. Apugan, RCrim, showcased the impressive numbers of our new and continuing cadets:
4th CL Batch Mandala: 32 Cadets (6 Female, 25 Male)
3rd CL Batch Pudlang Kalis: 43 Cadets (8 Female, 35 Male)
2nd CL Batch Masigasig: 24 Cadets (5 Female, 19 Male)
1st CL Batch Maragtas: 39 Cadets (15 Female, 24 Male)
The ceremony reached its zenith with the Oath-Taking of Cadets, introduced by John Del L. Responso, RCrim, Criminal Justice Program Faculty and ROTC Instructor. The Message of the Guest of Honor, delivered by SFO2 Julius Christian R. Adeva, Deputy CFM, OIC Admin, OIC IIU, from the Bureau of Fire Protection, echoed the values of resilience and commitment.
A special thanks to our valued guests from the Bureau of Fire Protection and the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, whose presence and support were invaluable.
We extend our deepest gratitude to S. Ma. Anecita C. Navaja, RVM, President of Christ the King College, to the RVM Sisters, to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Carmelita C. Labadan, and to the Dean of Student Affairs, Mr. Paul Rem Jee Diaz, LPT, MAFil (CAR), for their unwavering support. Though Mr. Pericles G. Aninion, MPM, the Institutional Quality Assurance Coordinator, was unable to attend, his contributions remain deeply valued. Our appreciation also goes to the parents, and the audience for their encouragement and presence.
Congratulations to all the surviving cadets who have successfully endured the grueling and demanding Reception Rites! Your perseverance through this rigorous challenge exemplifies your dedication and readiness for the journey ahead.
The event concluded with a graceful Reception Rites Proper, bringing a memorable morning to a close at 12:00 NN.
This marks as a celebration of the beginning of a journey filled with purpose and determination.
