On February 26, 2024, Christ the King College was filled with excitement and anticipation as the school’s annual Intramurals officially started with the theme, “CKCIANS: Imbibing the Spirit of Synodality in Prayer and Hope Manifested Through Camaraderie and Sportsmanship.”
The opening ceremony kicked off with a vibrant parade routing from the Exit Gate heading to Tuto Street, Cabilto Extension Street, National Highway andΒ Entrance Gate of Christ the King College. The parade consists of the schoolβs Drum and Lyre Corps with special participation of SMA Lunaoβs Marching Band. Various departments and clusters of the school participated, setting the tone for the spirited events ahead.

St. Gabriel – Teacher Education Program, Business Administration Program, and Accountancy Program
St. Michael – Social Work Program and Criminal Justice Program
St. Uriel – Nursing Program
St. Raphael – Department and Hospitality Management Department
The ceremony continued with an invocation led by the JHS Artisan Club, followed by the presentation of the National Anthem, School Hymn, and Himno ng Gingoog through a multimedia presentation. The raising of delegation banners was a highlight, with the Criminology and Social Work departments clinching the honor.
Lighting of the urn was led by the following athletes: Palarong Pambansa Players: April Shayne Acebar and Krazielley Mary Lourd Narit. Badminton Provincial Meet player, Roubiel Peter Villafranca. Table Tennis Provincial Meet Player, Leojenne Shanniah T. Pardillo. Arnis Provincial Meet Players: Hans Joseph Rana, Joie Rana, and Mark Anthony Jamila, have brought pride to CKC in various sports competitions.
The event was graced by esteemed guests, including the Dean of Student Affairs, Mr. Paul Rem Jee Diaz, LPT, and School President S. Ma. Anecita C. Navaja, RVM, who declared the opening of the Intramurals. Pre-Kinder to Grade 6 pupils also showcased their talents in a series of presentations.
The highlight of the day was the Cheerdance Competition, which featured stunning performances from all clusters. The competition was divided into three categories, and with the 3rd category being the college department; St. Gabriel, St. Michael, St. Raphael, and St. Uriel showcasing their skills and school spirit.
The ceremony concluded with acknowledgements from the Masters of Ceremony, the Giving of Certificates and Tokens to the Panel of Judges, and the announcement of winners by Mr. Pericles G. Aninion, MPM, Institutional Quality Assurance Coordinator.
Final Cheerdance Scores (from the DSA):
1st placer – St. Uriel – 97%,
2nd placer – St. Gabriel – 90%
3rd placer – St. Michael – 83.67%
4th placer – St. Rafael – 81.67%
The day ended with the commencement of various sports events, promising days filled with friendly competition and camaraderie. The Intramurals is a one week celebration until March 2, 2024, with a variety of sports and activities planned for the participants
As the CKCIANS continue to imbibe the spirit of synodality in prayer and hope, the Intramurals 2024 is set to be an evident of their dedication to sportsmanship and unity.
