On September 18, 2024, Christ the King College held its 11th Criminology Interns Badging Ceremony at the Christ the King College’s Quadrangle, with the theme “Pathways to Excellence: Celebrating Aspiration and Achievements”. The ceremony, which ran from 9:00 AM to 11:15 AM, marked a significant milestone for Criminology students, who received their badges symbolizing their successful completion of academic training and readiness to serve in law enforcement and criminal justice.

The program opened with welcoming remarks from Mrs. Carmelita C. Labadan, Ph. D., Vice President for Academic Affairs, who emphasized the importance of the criminology students’ journey toward becoming upstanding members of society committed to justice and grounded with faith.

The program continued with a ceremonial parade and the presentation and confirmation of the criminology interns for the school year 2024-2025.

The centerpiece of the ceremony was the imposition of badges, where parents proudly pinned their children, signifying their transition from students to aspiring law enforcers.

Following that, awards were presented to the Top 10 performers of the batch and Dean’s Listers from the second semester of the academic year 2023-2024, recognizing their academic excellence.

Stephen Grant S. Velasco, the Battalion Commander of the Criminology Intern Class “Maragtas,” distinguished himself by receiving multiple awards, including Top 1 in Comprehensive Examination, Top 1 Dean’s Lister, Governor/Battalion Commander, and President of Interns.

The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Jail Chief Inspector Moises C. Genetiano II, warden of Gingoog City Jail, who served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker. Also present were Mrs. Carmelita C. Labadan, Ph.D., the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Mr. Paul Rem Jee Diaz, LPT, MAFIL (CAR), the Dean of Student Affairs, and Mr. Ram Christian C. Dalit, Rcrim, the Criminology Program Coordinator.

After the formal ceremony, the event concluded with a feast at the Mother Ignacia Gymnasium, bringing together the CKC Middle Administrators, Criminology students, guests and the families of the Interns.

The success of this momentous occasion will not be possible without the collective efforts of the Criminology Program Coordinator, Mr. Ram Christian C. Dalit, Rcrim, proud parents, program officers, criminology faculty and students, and, most importantly, the Almighty Father.
