The 73rd commencement exercises, with the theme “CKCian: Bearers of a Legacy Rooted in Resilience & Transformative Ignacian-Marian Education,” saw 227 graduates across the eight programs in the Higher Education Department receive their hard-earned credentials last May 28, 2024, at the Mother Ignacia Gymnasium.
Before the graduation rites, the Hooding Ceremony took place fronting the President’s Lobby administered by Rev. Fr. Joel Barcelona, CSS, and was followed by the Baccalaureate Mass, which was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Nicolas Basadre, SSJV.
During the commencement rites, graduates were graced with a message of hope and upholding the school’s three pillars as they venture on to their professional journey by this year’s keynote speaker, S. Ma. Asteria L. Emadin, RVM. She also reminded the graduates that the school is the home they can always return to.
Moreover, the graduates were individually awarded their diplomas, marking the culmination of their college journey. Junivie G. Bacasnot, one of the 26 cum laude from the Accountancy Program, delivered her address on behalf of the graduates.
As a testament to their commitment and loyalty, the graduates participated in the Pledge of Loyalty to the Alma Mater, led by Christine Mae G. Apal, the Fidelity Cup Awardee. This significant moment symbolized their dedication to carrying the values of faith, excellence, and service throughout their lives. The ceremony ended with the traditional singing of the Alma Mater song and school hymn accompanied by Mrs. Bella Santiago.
